Care and maintenance of your 3D-printed products

So that you can enjoy your 3D-printed PRINEN products for a long time, we have summarised the most important care instructions here.

General cleaning

Most of our products made of PLA and PETG are easy to clean:

• Use a soft, slightly damp cloth with lukewarm water
• Add mild soap if needed
• Not dishwasher-safe — the heat can deform the material
• Do not use aggressive cleaning agents, alcohol or acetone
• Pat dry gently, do not rub

Temperature resistance

3D-printed objects are sensitive to high temperatures:

• PLA: softens from about 60°C. Do not leave in direct sunlight behind glass or in a car
• PETG: resistant up to about 80°C. Well suited for outdoor use
• TPU: flexible even in cold conditions, heat-resistant up to about 100°C

UV protection and location

Direct, long-term sunlight can fade or embrittle PLA products over time. PETG is more resistant here. For long-lasting decoration we recommend a location without direct UV exposure.

Mechanical load

Observe the product-specific load limits:

• Decorative items are not designed for heavy loads
• Functional parts have specified load limits — please note the product description
• Impacts and drops can cause breaks along the print layers

Surface care

For matte surfaces, occasional careful dusting with a soft brush or compressed air can help remove dust from the fine layer grooves.

Repair

If a product ever breaks, it can often be repaired: superglue (cyanoacrylate) adheres excellently to PLA and PETG. For larger damage, contact us — we are happy to help.

Disposal

Please check with your local waste management provider about proper disposal. The options for PLA and PETG differ depending on the regional collection and recycling system.
